ABEC-9 bearings refer to a specific type of skateboard bearings that adhere to the ABEC (Annular Bearing Engineering Committee) rating system. The riser pad on the back truck allows for increased turning and maneuverability. By adding height between the truck baseplate and the deck, it creates a greater angle of tilt, which translates into more responsive and fluid turns similar to those experienced while surfing.
